Hampton Pool Trust
Hampton Pool Summer Picnic Concerts

World class acts live in Hampton

– re-scheduled for 2021

Hampton Pool is now a well-established part of the south-west London summer season. Its beautiful open-air location is the perfect setting to enjoy a musical programme that mixes classic acts, brilliant performers and timeless music in an easy-going atmosphere.

Any surplus made from the concert season goes towards safeguarding the future of Hampton Pool and developing our treasured facility.

The concerts take place over three weekends in July each year and tickets usually go on sale at the end of February/early March. They tend to sell out quickly, so sign up to our mailing list to make sure you’re one of the first to hear about them!

World class performers have played at Hampton Pool (some several times) over the years. Just a few of the names include: 10cc; ABC; Joan Armatrading; Average White Band; Canned Heat; Lulu; The Stranglers and Ten Years After.

There is a gallery of performers on our history page that can be viewed by clicking on the button below.

Heaven 17 plus The Christians

Heaven 17

Heaven 17 have been influencing the shape of modern music since the electro-pop days of the 1980s. And they’ve created some classics along the way, with albums like Penthouse and Pavement and The Luxury Gap and hit singles including (We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang, Temptation and Come Live with Me. A heaven-sent opening evening.

Described as “the Temptations in ripped jeans” by one rock critic, Liverpool’s The Christians infectious melodies and warm harmonies had a deep emotional undercurrent. Feeding on accusations, protest, despair and even self-doubt, their “socially aware soul” made a big impact on the complacent music scene of the late 80s. Top 30 singles Forgotten Town, Hooverville, Ideal World, Born Again, Words and their cover of the Isley Brothers’ Harvest for the World will all feature.

Procol Harum plus Caravan

Procol Harum

Procol Harum are famous for their worldwide and award-winning hit, A Whiter Shade of Pale, and seldom appear in the UK. But this summer they’ll be here at Hampton Pool. Still led by Gary Brooker, they’ll perform their signature bluesy, soaring, symphonic sound and draw on a catalogue a dozen albums strong, including newer material from 2017’s Novum.

Caravan are English whimsy, progressive jazz, melodic inventiveness, sprightly pop rock, gentle psychedelia and musical virtuosity. It’s time to rediscover or discover for the first time this unique band, known for singles Place of My Own and If I Could Do It All Over Again I’d Do It All Over You and albums like In the Land of Pink and Grey and Waterloo Lily.

The Illegal Eagles

The Illegal Eagles are audience favourites and back for a fifth time. One of the longest-running tribute bands, they’re brilliantly authentic, performing hits like Hotel California, Desperado, Tequila Sunrise, New Kid In Town, and Take It To The Limit.

Nearly Dan bring the spirit and sound of Steely Dan to our concert season. Since 1997, they’ve toured consistently in the UK and Europe to critical acclaim with their performances of the meticulously crafted grooves and allusive lyrical style of Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen and Walter Becker.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor plus City Funk Orchestra

Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Sophie Ellis-Bextor was originally with Britpop band, theaudience, and shot to fame as a vocalist on Spiller’s huge number one single Groovejet. She followed it up with Take Me Home and worldwide smash hit, Murder on the Dancefloor. A trail of hit solo albums have followed. We can’t wait to hear Sophie work her magic.

Concert favourites City Funk Orchestra always features two of Britain’s most popular soul singers, and some of the UK’s most exciting and accomplished funk and soul musicians. This July, Noel McCalla and Immani will return to share their incredible vocals with the Hampton Pool audience.
